Dropdown menus give you more control over your website's navigation. Group related pages under one menu item, so visitors can find what they need quickly and your site stays neat and organized.
Step 1: Turn on the dropdown menu
In the UENI Editor, go to your Header settings.
Click Menu.
Under Type of menu, select Dropdown.
A set of new options appears.
Step 2: Set how the menu behaves
Layout: use Sticky Menu, Menu with Logo in Line, or Split Menu Items with center logo for your main navigation bar.
Breadcrumbs: turn on Add breadcrumbs on each page to show visitors where they are, for example Home > Products > Accessories.
Overlay under Menu: add a semi-transparent layer behind open dropdowns for better readability, and adjust its opacity.
Open dropdown items on: choose Hover for faster navigation, or Click for more deliberate interaction.
Step 3: Style your dropdowns
Open the Dropdown tab in the Design Menu section to control:
Item Width and Height
Hover effects: Underline, Highlight or Color change, with control over colours, underline width and corner radius.
Divider: add a line between items and choose its colour.
Font: size, format (bold, italic, caps) and colour.
Border and Drop shadow: border thickness and colour, and shadow distance, spread, blur and colour.
Background and icons: dropdown background colour and icon size.
Style for mobile
Click the mobile icon at the top of the Editor to switch to mobile mode. A Menu Level Options section appears in the Menu design tab. Choose the first or second level, and customize its font size, format, alignment, and font and background colour.
Step 4: Manage your menu items
Scroll down to Menu Navigation.
Reorder: click and hold the six dots, then drag the item into place.
Create a dropdown: drag one item onto another to instantly nest it.
More options: click the three dots on the right of an item to Edit, Move Item Up (back to the main menu), Add Subitem Menu (for more levels), Add/Change Media (an image or icon beside the title), Hide From Menu or Delete.
Add Menu Item: create a new custom link. New items are always added to the main menu.
Warning: Delete removes an item permanently. To take it out of the menu for now, use Hide From Menu instead.
Step 5: Edit a menu item
Choose Edit to change:
Item Title: the text shown in your menu.
Link to: a page URL (internal or external), another page on your site, a phone number, WhatsApp, your contact form, or a product or service, group or individual item.
Open in New Tab: tick to open the link in a new browser tab.
Click Save.
Pro tip: Need a bigger menu with images and a promo space? Try the Mega Menu.
