In this article, we will explain how you to choose the right competitors for your business.

Please note, this is only available to pre-October 2021 Reputation plan subscribers.

Using your Reviews Manager, you can connect up to three of your main competitors in order to compare performance and discover trends before anyone else. And great news - you can edit and amend these whenever you like, to keep up with your business growth and changes.

What is a competitor?

A competitors does not need to be a business that you are in direct competition with. As a matter of fact, they don't even need to be in the same city.

As long as you feel like their business is similar to yours or you admire them, you are free to include whoever you want as your competitor.

However, we recommend you select competitors that are similar to your business for the following reasons:

  • Proximity: Is the competitor close by enough to actually influence the choice to visit their location and not yours?
  • Type of Business: Does the competitor offer the same type of food or business as you? If you own a steakhouse and your competitor offers Asian Fusion fine dining, are you really competitors?
  • Price range: Are you similar enough in pricing and target audience to be considered a competitor?

That's it - now go ahead and set up your three competitors here
