Custom Code lets you add HTML snippets from third-party tools to your website, unlocking features beyond what UENI offers. Connect live chat, analytics, sign-up forms, podcast players and more.
Warning: Custom Code is only available on the Plus and Growth plans.
What you can add
Analytics and tracking: tools like Mixpanel or Hotjar show what visitors do on your site. For Google Analytics, use Settings > Analytics instead.
Real-time chat: live chat from providers like Facebook Messenger, Freshdesk or Intercom.
Visitor information: forms, mailing list sign-ups or surveys from Mailchimp, HubSpot or Typeform.
Do more: live streams, podcast players from Spotify or Mixcloud, or donation buttons.
Option 1: Add code site-wide from Settings
Place code in your site's Head, Body or Footer. The tool you're adding usually tells you where it goes.
Open the UENI Editor.
Click Settings and scroll to Custom Code.
Paste your code in the right area. For example, a Freshdesk live chat goes in Head.
Click Save, then visit your website to check it.
Note: Some tools appear in the bottom-right corner of your site. Turn on Prevent Content Overlap on Mobile to remove UENI's default widget. To remove code, delete it from the box and click Save.
Option 2: Add a Custom Code section to a page
With an Advanced Layout, you can add code to specific pages, like a Mailchimp sign-up form on your Contact page.
In the Editor, click Pages and choose a page.
Click Add Section and select Custom Code.
Click New Custom Code.
Enter a Title, paste your code and click Save.
Warning: Custom Code doesn't show in the Editor preview. Visit your live website to see your changes.
To move the section, click Edit and choose a new position. To remove it, click the trash icon.
Reuse code from your Custom Code library
Every snippet you add is saved in your library, even if you remove it from a page. Find it in Settings > Custom Code at the bottom. To add one back, add a new Custom Code section and pick it from the library.
