Custom Code: Get the most out of your Embedded Forms

How to receive and use results from mailing lists and forms added to your UENI website using Google Sheets.

UENI can add mailing lists, subscription forms, and custom forms to your website. Here's how to receive your form results and put them to work, even if you're new to forms, mailing lists, or Google Sheets.

Warning: This feature is only available on the Plus and Growth plans.

Step 1: Receive your form results

When we add a form to your website, a UENI agent shares a Google Sheets document with you. The form's questions are the column headers in the first row, and each new submission is added as a new row.

Note: Want an email for every new submission? Ask the agent to set up notifications to your website's email or another address.

Step 2: Work in a new tab

Click the + icon in the bottom-left corner to create a new tab. Copy the data you need from the Responses sheet and paste it there, for example your subscribers' names and email addresses. Learn more about working with data in Google Sheets.

Warning: Never edit the Responses sheet directly. It can break the connection with your form.

Ways to use your responses

Export to a CRM or other platform

  1. Check which file format your platform needs, such as CSV, TSV or Excel.

  2. In Google Sheets, click File > Download and choose that format.

  3. Import the file into your platform, making sure the data matches the right fields.

Build a targeted mailing list

Copy fields like email addresses, locations and interests into a new tab, group them by interest, then use an email marketing platform to send tailored newsletters and promotions.

Analyze customer feedback

Gather feedback in a new tab and sort it by topic, such as products, customer service, or website navigation. Look for trends and common issues, then plan how to improve.

Segment your audience

Divide your audience into groups with shared traits, like age, location or interests, to send more relevant content. Even simple data can help. For example, phone area codes can show where your visitors are.
