Good scheduling keeps a service business running smoothly. Setting a duration for each service makes sure customers book the right amount of time, and buffer time gives you room to clean up, rest or prepare before your next client.
Warning: Your services must be bookable first. Here's how to create a bookable service.
Step 1: Open the UENI Editor
Log in to your UENI account and open the UENI Editor.
Step 2: Open your Services
Step 3: Set the Total Booking Time
In the service settings, find Total Booking Time.
Service Duration: enter how long the service actually takes.
Buffer Time: add extra time after the service ends so appointments don't overlap.
Warning: If you don't set a duration, the appointment is added to your calendar as a 15-minute event.
Click Save.
Step 4: Set times for service variations
If your service has several options, you can set a duration and buffer for each one. In Manage Pricing and Availability, click Edit and set the booking time for each option.
Buffer time and the end of your day
Buffer time is added after every service, including your last one. For example, if you stop taking bookings at 12:00 and offer a 60-minute service with a 30-minute buffer, the latest start customers can pick is 10:30. An 11:00 start would end at 12:00, but its buffer would run to 12:30.
To offer that last slot:
Go to Settings > Booking Settings.
Turn on Allow bookings that end at closing time.
The buffer is then skipped when a service ends right as your last bookable window closes, so 11:00 becomes bookable.
Note: This setting is off by default and doesn't change buffers between bookings or around mid-day breaks. If you take bookings 9:00 to 12:00 and 14:00 to 18:00, it only applies at 18:00. Learn more about booking settings.
Pro tip: Sync your bookings with Google Calendar, Outlook Calendar or Calendly to stay on top of your schedule.
Final thoughts
With the right durations and buffers in place, your bookings fit the natural rhythm of your day. Done, your schedule is set up for success!
