How to edit the "Send a Message" section

For customers to send you a message they should fill in the Contact Form. This can be found when you access the Editor and head to Sections.

Whenever a customer requests a booking or messages your business, you’ll receive a notification via your Business Hub and registered email. Remember - given that these are booking requests rather than confirmed bookings, you'll need to follow these up by responding and confirming directly with your customer.

1. Open your contact form

Log into your website editor here, click Pages, select any page where your Contact Form is located, then select Contact Form. The preview on the right updates as you make changes, so you can see everything before you save.

2. Edit the basics

  • Contact Form Title - the heading above the form. Untick the checkbox to hide the title completely.

  • Subtitle - a short line under the title. Pro tip: use it to explain how you will follow up.

  • Warning Text - small print shown under the send button.

3. Rename the form fields

In the Labels card you can change what each field is called on your form:

  • Description label - the big box where visitors type their message. Default: "Description". Try something specific to your business, such as "Tell us about your event" or "What can we help with?"

  • Name label - default "Your name".

  • Email label - default "Your email".

  • Phone label - default "Your phone number".

Leave a field empty to keep the standard wording. Name and email are always required, so visitors can't send you a message without them.

4. Decide whether a phone number is compulsory

In the Phone number card, turn on Make phone number required. Visitors will see an asterisk next to the phone field and won't be able to send the form without filling it in. Leave it off if you are happy to be contacted by email only.

Turn this on if you usually call customers back. Bear in mind that asking for more information can mean fewer people finish the form.

5. Rename the send button

In the Submit button card, type your own Button label. The default is "Send Message". "Request a quote", "Book a call" or "Get in touch" often work better if your form has a specific job.

6. Choose what happens after someone sends the form

Open the After submission card and pick one of three options under When the form is submitted:

  • Show a message (default) - the visitor stays on your site and sees a confirmation. This is how your form works today.

  • Open Page URL - send the visitor to any web address after they submit, for example a thank-you page or a booking link. Type the full address starting with https://

  • Open Page - send the visitor to another page of your own website. Choose it from the list of your existing pages.

7. Customize your confirmation message

These settings appear when When the form is submitted is set to Show a message:

  • Confirmation message - the text visitors see once the form is sent. The default is "Someone will be in touch with you soon." Use the toolbar to add bold, italics, links or lists.

  • Action button - the button shown with the confirmation. The default label is "Send another message".

  • When the button is clicked - choose Stay on this form (default, so the visitor can send you a second message), Open Page URL, or Open Page to send them somewhere else.

8. Save

Check the preview on the right, then press Save once you are happy with your edits!
