Footers: build a richer footer with our Advanced footer

How to switch your footer to Advanced mode and build a multi-column footer with titles, links, social icons, contact details, your logo and more.

Your footer now has two modes. The new Advanced footer lets you build a richer, multi-column footer — with titles, links, social icons, contact details, your logo and more — all laid out the way you want, with no code.

Simple vs Advanced

At the top of the footer settings you'll find Type Of Footer:

  • Simple — a standard footer with just the tag line.

  • Advanced — Your own footer from columns and blocks.

You can switch back to Simple at any time.

Turning it on

  1. Open your website in the Editor.

  2. Go to the Footer.

  3. Set Type Of Footer to Advanced.

Columns

An Advanced footer is built from columns. Each column is a vertical section of your footer.

  • Use Add Column to add more.

  • Drag a column by its handle to reorder it, or use the bin icon to remove it.

  • On desktop the footer shows up to 4 columns per row; add more and they wrap onto the next row.

Blocks — what you can put in a column

Inside each column, click Add Block and choose a block type. Blocks can be dragged to reorder them.

  • Title — a heading for the column.

  • Description — a short piece of text, with bold, italic, underline and alignment.

  • Link — a clickable link. Point it at one of your pages, a phone call, or any web address; choose whether it opens in a new tab, and add an optional icon.

  • Media — an image.

  • Social Links — automatically shows the social profiles you've added in your Contact Us section. Display them as a list or as icons.

  • Contact Us — automatically shows the contact details from your Contact Us section.

  • Logo — your website logo (the same one from your header), with an optional bit of text beside or below it, a size control, and a link back to your home page.

  • Divider — a subtle line to separate things.

Because Social Links, Contact Us and Logo pull from your existing site details (managed through Contact Us for social and contact us, and through the Header for your logo), they stay up to date automatically — update them once and the footer follows.

Styling and branding

  • Design Footer opens the styling options (colours, spacing and so on) so the footer matches the rest of your site.

  • Custom Branding lets you add a short tagline, your logo, and choose its alignment.

Tips

  • Build it in two levels. Top level = columns; inside each column you add your blocks.

  • Drag to arrange. Reorder columns and blocks by dragging their handles.

  • Check it on mobile. Use the phone/desktop toggle at the top of the editor — columns stack neatly on smaller screens.

  • Nothing is locked in. Switch back to Simple, or click Cancel before saving, to undo your changes.

When you're happy, click Save and your new footer goes live across your site.
