Efficient scheduling is key to running a service-based business, and UENI offers tools to help you manage your time effectively. One of the most important features you can use is setting the duration of your services, which ensures that customers book the correct amount of time for each appointment.


But that’s not all—UENI also allows you to set buffer times between appointments. These buffer times give you the flexibility to include breaks, prepare for your next service, or manage any additional tasks before your next client arrives.


In this guide, we'll show you how to set both the duration of your services and the buffer time on your UENI website, so you can manage your schedule with ease.



To maximize efficiency, you can connect your bookings to your preferred calendar app. You can read our articles on how to sync Google Calendar, Outlook Calendar, or Calendly.


Step 1: Access the Website Editor

Log in to your UENI account and open the website editor.


Step 2: Navigate to the “Sections” Menu

On the left-hand side of the editor, find and click on the Sections menu. This is where you’ll manage all the different parts of your website, including your service listings.


Step 3: Select “Services”

In the Sections menu, click on Services to view the list of all the services you’ve added to your website. This will allow you to make adjustments to each service individually.


Step 4: Choose the Service You Want to Customize

Scroll through the list of services and click on the specific service you want to update. This will open the detailed settings page for that service, where you’ll be able to make changes.


Step 5: Set the Total Booking Time

In the service settings, you’ll find a new option called “Total Booking Time.” There, you'll be able to set the service duration and add buffer times.




Service Duration

This is where you can specify how long the service takes to complete. Enter the appropriate duration for the service, ensuring it reflects the actual time required.


⚠️IMPORTANT: If the duration of the service is not set, by default, the appointment will be added as a 15 minute event on your calendar.



Buffer Time

Below the total booking duration, you’ll see an option to add “Buffer Time.” This feature allows you to set aside extra time after the service ends. Whether you need to clean up, rest, or prepare for the next client, the buffer time ensures that your appointments don’t overlap. Input the desired buffer duration here.


Customize the Duration for each service variation

If your service includes multiple options, you can set the duration and buffer time for each variation. Find the "Manage Pricing and Availability" area and click "Edit". There, you'll be able to set the booking times for each option.




By managing these settings for each of your services, you can create a seamless booking experience that works perfectly with your business's rhythm.
