Read and send your UENI mail on the go by adding it to the built-in Email app on your Huawei phone or tablet. These steps work for HarmonyOS and older EMUI versions. Menu names vary slightly, but the settings are the same.
Note: Huawei phones from 2019 onwards (Mate 30 and newer) don't include Gmail, so use the pre-installed Email app. You'll need your full UENI email address and mailbox password.
Step 1: Open the Email app
Open Email. If it's your first account, the setup wizard opens. Otherwise, tap Menu > Settings > Add account.
Step 2: Choose Other and sign in
Tap Other (not Exchange, Google, Outlook or Yahoo). Enter your full email address and password, then tap Sign in or Next. Select IMAP to keep your mail in sync across devices.
Step 3: Enter incoming server settings
Username: your full UENI email address
Password: your UENI mailbox password
Server: mail.uenimail.com
Port: 993 for IMAP (or 995 for POP3)
Security type: SSL/TLS
Step 4: Enter outgoing server settings
Server: mail.uenimail.com
Port: 465
Security type: SSL/TLS
Require sign-in: On, with your full email address and password
Step 5: Finish setup
Choose how often to check for mail and your notification settings, enter the name recipients will see, and tap Done.
Troubleshooting
"Username or password incorrect": use your full email address, not just the part before the @.
"Couldn't reach server": check the server is mail.uenimail.com, port 993, SSL/TLS, and turn off any VPN.
"I can receive but not send": check SMTP uses port 465 with SSL/TLS and that sign-in is on.
"Still stuck": contact UENI support with a screenshot of the error.
