How to configure your UENI mail on Gmail / Android

Step-by-step guide to add your UENI mailbox to the Gmail app on Android using IMAP/SMTP.

Need to access your UENI business email from your Android phone or tablet? Here's how to add it to the Gmail app.

The Gmail app works as a general email client — you don't need a Google account to receive your UENI mail through it.

Before you start, make sure you have:

Step 1: Open the Gmail app and add an account

Open Gmail on your device.

  • Tap your profile picture in the top-right corner.

  • Tap Add another account.

(On older versions of Gmail you can also reach this via ☰ Menu → Settings → Add account.)

Step 2: Choose "Other"

From the provider list, tap Other. Do not pick Google, Outlook, Yahoo or Exchange — your UENI mail is a standard IMAP account.

Step 3: Enter your email address

Type your full UENI email address (e.g. [email protected]) and tap Next.

Step 4: Choose IMAP

When asked what kind of account this is, choose Personal (IMAP).

We recommend IMAP over POP3 — it keeps your mail in sync across all your devices. If you prefer POP3, the same hostnames apply (see Step 6).

Step 5: Enter your password

Enter your UENI mailbox password and tap Next.

Step 6: Incoming server settings

Fill in (or correct) the following, then tap Next:

  • Username: your full UENI email address (not just the part before the @)

  • Password: your UENI mailbox password

  • Server: mail.uenimail.com

  • Port: 993 for IMAP (or 995 for POP3)

  • Security type: SSL/TLS

Step 7: Outgoing server settings

Replace the pre-filled values with:

  • SMTP server: mail.uenimail.com

  • Port: 465

  • Security type: SSL/TLS

  • Require sign-in: On

  • Username: your full UENI email address

  • Password: your UENI mailbox password

Tap Next.

Step 8: Account options

Pick how often Gmail should check for new mail (default 15 minutes is fine), and whether to enable notifications and contact sync. Tap Next.

Step 9: Name the account

Enter the name you want recipients to see, and an optional account label. Tap Next. Your UENI inbox will now appear in Gmail — switch to it from the profile picture in the top-right.

Troubleshooting

  • "Username or password incorrect" — username must be the full email address, not just the prefix before the @.

  • "Couldn't reach server" on the incoming step — confirm port 993 and SSL/TLS. Switch off any VPN and try again.

  • Incoming works, sending fails — confirm SMTP is port 465 with SSL/TLS, and that Require sign-in is on with the same email/password as incoming.

  • Still stuck? Contact UENI support with a screenshot of the error.

Done — your UENI mail is now set up in Gmail!
