How do I verify my Google Business Profile (GBP)?

How to verify your Google Business Profile, including checking your details and choosing a verification method.

Verifying your Google Business Profile (GBP) helps your business show up on Google Maps, improves your search ranking, and lets you see and reply to Google reviews. Google won't show your listing on Maps until it's fully verified.

Note: On the Plus and Growth plans, we set up your Google Business Profile for you, but you'll need to complete verification yourself.

Warning: Your business must meet customers face-to-face, at your location or theirs. Fully online businesses aren't eligible. See Google's eligibility and ownership guidelines.

Step 1: Check your business details

Google needs a complete, accurate business address (not a PO box) and phone number to verify you. They don't need to appear on your website.

  • Include your street and number, postal code, city, state and country.

  • Not sure of the format? Search your address on Google Maps and copy its style.

  • Service-area businesses should check their location is accurate, and may need to send Google extra documents.

To update your address, open the UENI Editor, go to your Contact Me section, make your changes and click Save.
